Hurricane Melissa has caused severe devastation across many regions of eastern Cuba, Melissa brought with it life-threatening conditions, including hurricane-force winds, storm surges
up to 12 feet above normal tide levels, and heavy rainfall of 10 to 20 inches across eastern regions, with isolated totals reaching 25 inches in mountainous areas. These factors are causing severe flash flooding, mudslides, and landslides, leaving thousands
of families without homes, food, or basic necessities.
In response, the Cuban Association of the Order of Malta has established the Emergency Relief Fund for the Victims of Hurricane Melissa, to provide immediate assistance—food,
clean water, medicines, and shelter—to those most affected.

On the occasion of the Feast of Blessed Gerard, founder and first Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, the Grand Magistry announces the launch of the new official Order of Malta
App.
This initiative marks an important step in strengthening the identity and visibility of the Order, creating a closer connection with members, volunteers, and all those who closely follow
our activities around the world. With an intuitive interface and advanced features, the App will allow greater visibility of the numerous humanitarian, social, and healthcare initiatives carried out daily guided by the Order’s charism – Tuitio
Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum –, making them accessible to an increasingly wide audience.
The new application, available in five languages, is organized into two main areas that will be extended with additional modules and content in upcoming releases: a
public section and a private section, serving as a direct link to the Intranet for members and staff.
With this launch, the Order of Malta takes a further step towards digital innovation, strengthening its impact and international visibility, and offering a tool that unites tradition and
modernity in the service of its centuries-old mission of Christian witness and care for the poor and the sick.

Frey John Dunlap encabezó la peregrinación de la Orden de Malta en México
|

El Gran Maestre de la Soberana Orden de Malta, Frey John Dunlap, participó el sábado 18 de octubre de 2025 en la 41.ª peregrinación anual de enfermos organizada por la Asociación mexicana de la Orden
de Malta.
La peregrinación se llevó a cabo en el Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en la Ciudad de México, donde, desde mediados de la década de 1970, la Orden de Malta en México organiza esta iniciativa
anual para los enfermos.
Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Patrona de las Américas –título que el Papa Juan Pablo II le otorgó durante su visita en 1999– es el santuario más importante de México.
El Gran Maestre se dirigió al lugar de la aparición para compartir la devoción a la Virgen, acompañado por el Presidente de la Asociación mexicana, numerosos miembros y voluntarios de la Orden, asi como
por personas con discapacidad a las que cuidan. Cientos de miembros de la Orden llegaron desde Canadá, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Estados Unidos, Costa Rica y Cuba para honrar a la Virgen y rezar en esta ocasión especial.
